Description and Basic Information ::

Based on Christopher Isherwood's 'Berlin Stories,' this outstanding musical comedy features Sally Bowles, a British nightclub singer who falls head over heels for an American writer named Clifford, who meets her in Berlin just before the rise of the Nazi Party. Gina Gershon stars as Bowles with Matthew Greer as Clifford. Of particular note is the solid quality of costumes and sets, which accurately capture the mood of the time period. This can be hard for a director to pull off, but in Cabaret, it is performed with ease. The production has earned so much of a following over the years that it was even staged by British talent Same Mendes in Studio 54. Sexy Stuff.
