Children may not find New York City as exciting as most adults, so why not take them to a place that will cater to their interests and abilities? The Children's Museum of Manhattan does just that, with hands-on exhibits and activities that both educate and entertain. Kids will enjoy five floors of interactive exhibits. They can climb, paint, draw and even produce their own television show for CMOM-TV in the Time Warner Media Center, a professionally equipped television studio. Daily workshops, activities and exhibits are directed at children ages 2-10. Exhibits include the Body Odyssey, where kids can learn about a different part of the human body in each room; and Seuss!, an imaginary land based on the legendary author's books for children. A new edition, the John Lennon exhibit, showcases a collection of the late Beatle's drawings, poems and figurines made for son Sean. This is a great gallery for Beatles fans of all ages. The Museum is not only designed to entertain the youngsters, but to educate them as well. The Inventor Center allows kids to design solutions using digital imaging equipment like scanners, cameras and printers. Kids can also create their own invention and CMOM Patent Form. The Wordplay gallery, for children 1- 4 months old, will stimulate your baby's brain with many exhibits concentrating on the use of words. |
