(The Center will occupy the temporary space at One Little West 12th Street while the Center building at 208 West 13th Street undergoes massive renovations.)
The National Museum of Lesbian and Gay History was created in 1988 for the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center. The walls of this museum in the Labyrinthine Building are decorated with works by artists such as Keith Haring. The Center itself produces many civic and cultural programs to enhance awareness. It also serves as an affordable meeting space for gay and lesbian organizations. |
