:: Description and Basic Information ::
Located in the First Amendment Center, the Newseum is devoted to the art and business of journalism, and especially deals with issues related to the First amendment of the Constitution. Though the museum is informative and even intriguing to any visitor, it does not solve the crisis in the Fourth Estate--namely, that news organizations avoid writing about themselves still, unless to pay tribute of course. Nevertheless, in addition to public programming and numerous significant public speakers on many issues, from race to war to commercialism, the Newseum offers an exhibit dedicated to the journalists that lost their lives while on assignment, from magazine photographers to TV reporters to newspaper journalists and more. The Newseum also provides an exhibit that churns out up-to-the-minute news from around the world, hot off the press!
